TSR4000 Automated Rail Weighing Indicator

Total control of dynamic rail weighing. Wheel, axle, bogie, wagon and whole-train weights, with automatic alarms for overspeed, overcapacity and imbalance in both directions.

An Indicator Designed for Dynamic Rail Weighing

The TSR4000 digital weight indicator is purposely designed for dynamic rail weighing with in-track transducers or conventional load-cell weighbridges, offering superior accuracy and performance and turning raw wheel forces into precise, actionable data.

  • OIML R106 accuracy classes 0.2, 0.5, 1 and 2

  • Weighs uni- or bi-directionally at 0–110 km/h

  • Automatic alerts: overspeed, overcapacity, imbalance

  • Reports wheel, axle, bogie, wagon and train weights

  • Units in tonnes, tons, kilograms and pounds

How Automated Dynamic Train Weighing Works

Diagnostics and Calibration Built In

The TSR4000 runs diagnostics automatically at programmable intervals or on demand: memory check, analogue power supplies, transducer voltage, analogue span check, transducer shunt calibration, zero drift and wheel sensors.

It prints its diagnostic configuration, a 90-day event diary, a 90-day diagnostic check diary, a wheel sensor and transducer operations report and a wheel sensor trace — which is exactly what an engineer needs when a system is questioned.

Calibration is performed from the front panel keyboard and covers transducer and weighbridge static calibration plus dynamic calibration in both the IN and OUT directions. Two temperature sensing channels track ambient conditions across a −50 to +100 °C range.

Automated Rail Weighing Frequently Asked Questions

Short and Precise Answers to Gathering Accurate Rail Freight Date

The TSR4000 supports OIML R106 accuracy classes 0.2, 0.5, 1 and 2 for both wagon weighing and whole-train weighing, so the system can be matched to the commercial or regulatory requirement rather than over-specified.

Yes. The TSR4000 is designed for use with conventional load cell weighbridges as well as in-track weighbridge transducers, which makes it a common choice for upgrading an existing rail weighing installation.

The TSR4000 provides side-to-side and end-to-end imbalance indication through protocol messages and data reporting, alongside overload and overspeed indicators, so an imbalanced wagon is flagged as it is weighed.

Calibration is carried out from the front panel keyboard and covers transducer and weighbridge static calibration plus dynamic calibration in both the IN and OUT directions. Railweight provides static and dynamic calibration worldwide.

The TSR4000 handles a train consist of up to 999 vehicles, with automatic wagon sequential numbering, individual wagon speeds and maximum and minimum train speed reporting.
